The Radiographer Sonographer Trainee performs a range of clinical support activities and ‘on the job' skills development while engaged in formal full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.
With relevant supervision, deliver Radiographer Sonographer Trainee clinical services within the agreed scope of the role and experience as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health. These services are delivered in accordance with the goals, policies and requirements of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS).
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service are seeking expressions of interest for Radiographer Sonographer Trainee's to join our team. The Talent Pool will be used to fill casual and Fixed term temporary full time and part time vacancies as they arise within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.
The Medical Imaging Service provides a comprehensive Medical Imaging, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Radiology service. This position is a key senior clinical team member who is required to perform complex imaging examinations, and independently manage the complexities and demands of the Medical Imaging service, which is operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The Medical Imaging Service operates a one service/multi-campus model with the SCUH being the major imaging service. Medical Imaging is also provided at Nambour General Hospital, Gympie Hospital and Caloundra Hospital.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Successfully complete (pass or better) all academic and practical requirements of your tertiary study while employed as a Health Practitioner- Radiographer Sonographer Trainee.
- Work within a scope of practice that is commensurate with the level of knowledge and skill development of current tertiary studies (previously assessed as being competent in ie).
- Perform a defined range of clinical assessment and treatment tasks within the scope of practice as delegated by the supervising allied health professional/Health Practitioner.
