This is an exciting role that would suit candidates who has an interest in patient care, radiography, health sciences and/or technology. If you happen to be studying at university in the mentioned areas, this position will give you exposure to the hospital environment and help build your core skills such as prioritising workloads, manual handling, patient care, and handover, communicating with the multi-disciplinary team and patients/carers, as well as infection control practices.

Where you'll be workingRyde Hospital Medical Imaging Dept performs X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound (US) for patients from the emergency department, Intensive Care Unit, Graythwaite Rehab Unit and the various wards.
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing
The Radiology Allied Health Assistant provides support to the radiographers, nursing & Administrative team in the delivery of patient care as directed by radiographers & nursing staff, general assistance in radiology department, cleaning duties and portering for patient transfers around the facility.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Proven capacity to deliver general Hospital Services which may include general portering, cleaning, working unsupervised.
- Effective communication skills and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual handling aid.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
