Queensland Rail has a current project pipeline of over A$10 billion and this is expected to grow exponentially in the build-up to the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. As a result of this significant investment, the need to secure in-house signalling and systems assurance resources is paramount.
Based in Brisbane, we currently have a full time permanent opportunity for a Rail Signalling Systems Engineering Lead to lead the development and management of signalling system engineering services to delivery teams and providing technical oversight and direction for the development of safety cases and hazard analyses for complex systems.
Key selection criteria
- High leadership and strategic direction setting skills including working in a flexible manner in a team.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills relevant to managing procurement of professional and technical services and advice.
- Extensive knowledge of metro style railway systems including Tunnel ventilation Systems, signalling and telecommunications infrastructure systems, their interfaces, technical aspects and technical standards.
- High level of skills to integrate complex technical issues into outcomes with a business focus.
- Substantial knowledge of governance, risk and compliance and its application to the regulation and risk mitigation for the construction, maintenance and operation of railway infrastructure.
- Substantial knowledge of railway operations and business imperatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (essential).
- Professional Engineer (Queensland) Registered (RPEQ) preferred.
