What you'll do
- Manage the end to end operation of the Primary Connect+ Direct Rail Operations model between the East Coast & Perth. The model involves transporting customer freight into and out of Woolworths and non-Woolworths sites via Direct Rail.
- Daily and ongoing management of third party carriers (3PL's), management of the booking process with rail freight providers, management & reporting of Primary Connect's owned & leased container fleet (rail), proactive cold chain management (rail), management of on time pickup and delivery and oversight of safety outcomes and processes.
- Actively impact Primary Connect+ cost and EBIT outcomes by planning cost effective transport and managing equipment utilisation
- Develop and maintain a high level of engagement and understanding with our Carrier partners and Linehaul service providers
- Coordinate equipment breakdowns and repairs and maintenance with suppliers and National Fleet Team as required
What you'll bring
- 3+ years experience in Transport Operations & Planning role
- Strong administrative skills and commercial acumen
- A high level of communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills at all levels
- Experience managing stakeholder expectations appropriately with the ability to navigate through challenging circumstances
- Proven capability in delivering high-quality outputs under pressure and in a fast turnaround time
- Process-driven with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility to be available for out of hours escalations including weekend
