The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Raise Bore Driller to join our team. This role is FIFO with a roster of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, alternating between dayshift and nightshift, with future possibility of 2 weeks on and 1 week off. You can FIFO from any capital city airport, meals and accommodation are provided, and a portion of travel time is paid!

Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate Raise boring rig in a safe and efficient manner
- Conduct daily rig pre-starts
- Conduct daily Light Vehicle, Integrated Tool Carrier, Telehandler and Stores Truck pre-starts
- Ability to perform basic pre-start maintenance and checks
- When necessary, carry out essential maintenance tasks under direct supervision
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings with the on-site crew
- Set up the site and prepare the Raise boring rig in accordance with MDA's standards and protocols.
- Locate collar and drill pilot hole following technical guidance
- Drill and monitor progress of pilot hole
- Assemble reamer underground and carry out reaming hook-up procedures
- Complete the reaming of the Raise Bore in line with all quality compliance documentation
- Assemble/disassemble the drill site efficiently and promptly
- Carry out operator maintenance and condition monitoring inspections
- Ensure the highest level of housekeeping is carried out and maintained
- Ensure stock removed from the site tool container is appropriately recorded
- Ensure all company safety standards are always maintained
- Understand client requirements and maintain clear communication
- Conduct mobilisation and demobilisation.
- Conduct site establishment and set up the Raise boring rig as per MDA standards and procedures.
- Adhere to all site and MDA standards and procedures.
Skills and Experience Required
- RIINHB312 (A to D suffix) – Conduct Raise Boring Ticket
- RIIHAN311F – Conduct Operations with Integrated Tool Carrier
- RIIWHS204 – Work at heights Ticket – Desired but not mandatory
- RIIHAN309F – Conduct Operations with Telehandler – Desired but not mandatory
- Demonstrated experience operating Raise boring rigs - Experience on Atlas Copco models 71R, 72R, 73R, and 91R considered a plus
- Manual C Class Drivers’ License
- HR License - Desired but not mandatory
- Crane CN License - Desired but not mandatory
- Capability to successfully complete Pre-Employment Medicals & Drug and Alcohol Screens
- Have your Senior First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain it).
- Be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement safe working practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills is desirable.
