Job description

Ramen Cook

We have a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and talented cook to join our Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King team within The Melbourne Hotel. In your role you will directly report to the Restaurant Supervisor, ensuring service is smooth and food is exquisite.  You will control the pass when required and ensure food costs are kept within the budget.

Duties and Responsibilities (but are not limited to the following):

  • Passion for refined cooking
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Possess common sense and a mature attitude
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Ability to support others as required and communicate effectively
  • Maintain high and consistent standards of products at all times
  • Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel
  • Assist the Restaurant Supervisor with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for service
  • Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control, whilst maintaining recipe standards
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained
  • Keep all work areas clean and tidy & ensuring all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned to OHS standards.
     

To be considered for this exciting position, you must possess the following:

  • At least 1 years' experience as a cook or chef in a similar cuisine.
  • Trade qualifications are not required, but highly regarded. 
  • Excellent technical knowledge with experience in all cooking techniques and styles.
  • There is a requirement to work split shifts.
  • Experience leading staff during service and a passion to be creative
  • Completed the Certified National Food Safety Standard 3.2.2A - Food Handler training.
