About the role:
As the Research and Development Manager at Coldshield, you will oversee a well-established team and play a pivotal role in leading the design, development, and iteration of both existing and new products within their range. Your responsibilities will include analysing market trends, with a key focus on product improvement for existing products, ensuring both manufacturability and documentation standards are met. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive the implementation of new processes to propel the business forward to the next level.
The role is based in Toowoomba, Queensland. Brisbane-based candidates willing to travel weekly to Toowoomba will also be considered.
About You:
We are seeking a candidate with broad, hands-on experience in product development, from concept to production, coupled with strong business acumen and a strategic mindset.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An Electrical/Mechanical background, with tertiary or trade qualifications. Exposure to electrical circuit design would be highly regarded.
- Prior experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to take a product from concept to production
- Lead the review of the existing process engineering practises to understand where, when and how it can be improved
- A strong passion for mentoring and knowledge development
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
- Experience in preparing technical documentation and procedures to support the manufacturing and assembly of product lines
- Exposure to CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret build requirements from clients
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
