Job Description
- Permanent Part-time, 24 hours per week
- Working hours 8:30 am- 5:00pm Wednesday - Friday
- $73,776.74 per annum (pro rata) plus Superannuation

The reception role that sits within the Community Centres and Venues team at Hume City Council provides a first point of contact to clients visiting Hume City Council when entering Town Hall Broadmeadows.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver, or organise the delivery of, all operational actions associated with the venues managed by the Community Centres and Venues team including but not limited to HGLCs and / or Town Hall Broadmeadows reception.
- Respond to incoming telephone and email enquiries including ensuring complaints are dealt with effectively and escalated to senior management if required.
- Liaise professionally with and directing clients, contractors, couriers, and other visitors.
- Administer the Hall’s booking system, including point of contact enquiries, maintenance of and adherence to the booking system and administration of accounting processes.
- Provide support to the Community Centres and Venues team where required including preparing memos, completing forms and other administrative tasks.
- Promote the full range of venues and services that are offered through the Community Centres and Venues portfolio.
- Work collaboratively with other staff in a team environment.
- Oversee the main foyer space and entry to HGLCs and / or Town Hall Broadmeadows ensuring that it is kept clean and tidy.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:
- Demonstrated administration and customer service skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to identify customer needs and expectations, decide the appropriate action and respond accordingly.
- Knowledge of working within a customer driven environment and demonstrated experience in dealing with members of the public.
- An ability to process payments and handle money—issue correct change, receipting and balancing of cash float.
