The Opportunity
The Y Northern Territory is looking for a professional and friendly Hostel Receptionist to join our team based in the Darwin CBD. The Hostel primarily accommodates long term residents and caters for a wide range of demographics within its guests.

The role of the Receptionist is the face of the Hostel and the first point of connection with guests and the community. The role is a combination of engagement with Hostel guests and administrative tasks. Excellent people skills are essential along with time management.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Providing a high level of friendly, polite and helpful customer service to all guests and visitors.
- Answering all incoming calls and email enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Processing bookings, checking people in and out, and kiosk sales.
- Following up on outstanding room payments with guests
- Ensuring effective communication within a team environment
- Working collaboratively with the Cleaner/Groundskeeper staff to coordinate cleaning and maintenance.
- Reporting and managing non-compliance with Hostel regulations and Conditions of Stay
- Adhering to all health and safety requirements and ensuring the health and safety of all guests in accordance with policy, procedure and legislation
This is a casual role across Monday to Friday, 8.30 am – 4.30 pm, with the opportunity to progress to a permanent position with generous salary sacrifice options, free membership to all YMCA recreation facilities and discounted childcare at Y Child Care Services.
Successful candidates will have prior experience in a similar role, ideally prior experience with RMS 9+ or a comparable management system and experience working in Human Services.
