Records Archivist

Classification grade: Clerk Grade 5/6

Salary: $93,295-$102,941 p.a. (Excluding employer’s contribution to superannuation and annualised leave loading.)

Work type: Full-Time – 35 hours per week. Attendance at our office based in Sydney, CBD will be required on most days.

About the role

Join our team to spearhead the implementation of a Records Disposal & Transfer Program for legal and administrative records. This critical role strives to compliantly dispose of records and transfer those of ongoing value to the State Archives Collection.  You will be working collaboratively within an archival team who to appraise both paper and digital records, whilst also working with other records staff to provide guidance and support on records lifecycle activities.

About you.  Our ideal candidate.

  • You are experienced working in a regulated records management environment.
  • You enjoy undertaking records appraisal.
  • You are proficient in using an EDRMS, such as Content Manager.
  • You build good working relationships to guide and influence senior record owners to make disposal and transfer decisions.
  • You have a high attention to detail and are self-driven to achieve.

Essential requirements 

  • Certificate IV in Business (Records & Information Management) or a minimum of 3 years' experience in reviewing and managing archived records. 
  • Obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
