About the Role 

The newly created role of Recruitment and Employment Services Manager will be responsible for enabling and supporting the delivery of a customer focused Recruitment and HR administrative services aligned to business needs and delivered in a timely and efficient manner. As the successful candidate, you will directly manage projects as determined in collaboration with the Associate Director People and Culture Services and aligned to the People and Culture strategic objectives and be responsible for the management and day-to-day direction of the Recruitment and Employment Services team.

Some of the key responsibilities of the position are:

  • Plan and execute projects to deliver continuous improvement initiatives aligned to the HR services provided by the Recruitment and Employment Services Team.
  • Utilising data and metrics to manage workload, service delivery and peaks in HR service needs.
  • Manage day to day escalation of more complex matters and provide support and guidance in addressing issues with a solution focussed approach.
  • Responsibility for quality control of process guidelines and instructions to ensure they remain relevant and up to date.
  • Work in a collaborative and professional manner with other parts of People and Culture and the wider university community.
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to members of the team to enhance capability and professional development.

About You 

To be successful, you have extensive knowledge and experience in leading a diverse HR operational function. You are passionate about utilising available data to create informative reporting and presentation to the senior leadership on performance and improvement of the services you lead. You can build trustworthy and effective relationships with stakeholders of various seniority across the University.

You have demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to manage teams by motivating, inspiring and empowering individuals to derive individual reward and satisfaction from the team’s achievements.

Some of the key position capabilities of the role include:

  • Demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects from end to end under broad direction.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a diverse HR services function that includes a Recruitment and HR advisory function.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering business improvement initiatives that provide improved service.
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring quality control of guideline and process documentation, including managing annual review of documentation and updating/developing documentation as required.
  • Demonstrated capability to establish and maintain high levels of customer trust and confidence, and to develop a genuine understanding of business needs, with the ability to play a consultative role to engage the appropriate people, processes, and tools in the delivery of solutions.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills, including mentoring, coaching, collaborating and team building.
