This is a full-time position reporting directly to the National Recruitment Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring the attraction and selection of high calibre candidates to fill vacancies with our Employer Partners. You will also work closely with the wider team, including the national recruitment team.
Your position will involve end to end support of the recruitment function from presenting to stakeholders, to interviewing, conducting pre-employment checks and carrying out informative orientations, setting our future apprentices and trainees up for success.
This position is a pivotal driver of engagement with schools, TAFEs, community, leisure and other groups to raise awareness of the short- and longer-term career opportunities an apprenticeship and traineeship will provide. This awareness is to then contribute and directly link to candidate applications with one of WPC Groups industry leading Employer Partners.
Outcomes and Responsibilities
Engagement and Recruitment
- Create relevant, authentic, and thoughtful job advertisements, specific to vacancy requirements and unique selling points.
- Review and revise applicant eligibility.
- Be a primary driver of reaching out to talk to, meet and/or present at schools, TAFEs, community, leisure and other groups so as to raise awareness about apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities whilst supporting sourcing of candidates for these.
- Use social media platforms as a talent sourcing tool.
- Conduct interviews plus assess and shortlist candidates to various employment opportunities across several industries.
- Liaise with Employer Partners to manage the end-to-end recruitment process and successfully on-board candidates.
- Thorough and informative new starter orientations, administration, and compliance to set up incoming apprentices and trainees up for success.
- Develop attraction and selection strategies and marketing campaigns, which may include Employer Partner open houses, information sessions and other events.
Administration
- Compile reports on recruitment activities as required by the National Recruitment Manager.
- Project administration for our various Employer Partners and industry programs.
- Compliance when creating employment contracts for apprentices and trainees.
- Organisation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for new starters, where applicable.
- General administration including reporting and data entry.
- Liaise with other recruitment team members on key accounts linked to WPC recruitment – Seek, Indeed, etc.
Marketing and Strategic Communications
- Social Media activity – promote vacancies and WPC Group on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and others.
- Development and roll out of secondary school and community presentations.
- Development and roll out of career expo display and marketing material.
- Maintain, contribute and update WPC Group website recruitment material.
Selection Criteria and Role Requirements
Requirements
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to undertake (must have satisfactory outcome).
- Valid National Police Check or willingness to undertake (must have no disclosable outcomes).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Be eligible and have the rights to work in Australia.

- Proven track record in meeting KPI’s.

- Extensive experience providing responsive and professional customer service, with some exposure to administration.
