We give you a world of potentialWe have a great opportunity for a skilled Financial Accountant to join our ANZ Finance team on a fixed-term contract for 6 Months. If you're looking for a role that challenges you and gives you exposure to a large global corporation with development opportunities, you've found the right role.A role you will love This Financial Accountant reports to the ANZ Accounting Manager and will be responsible for assisting with delivery of the month-end close process, reporting to Group and preparing local statutory financial statements and regulatory reports for ANZ legal entities, ensuring that all deadlines are met. The Financial Accountant will also support the audit process by providing supporting evidence and documenting accounting positions. The Financial Accountant will prioritise maintaining appropriate controls in the reporting process and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in their region.You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across different teams within the finance department.Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Supports the month-end close process for assigned legal entities by posting selected journal entries and undertaking appropriate reviews to ensure that all numbers reported to Group are accurate and completePrepares group Half-Year and Year-End disclosure reporting packsParticipates in preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory reports for assigned regional subsidiaries focussing on accuracy and timelinessSupports the audit process by preparing appropriate work papers and co-ordinates provision of audit evidenceContributes to both regional and group-wide ad hoc projects including continuous improvements, group initiatives and participation in transformation activity where requiredMaintains appropriate controls in the reporting process and puts forward ideas for process, policy and control improvementsResponds to ad-hoc requests in areas related to reporting and financial control deploying accounting and reporting expertiseWhat will you bring to the role? The ability to perform your tasks efficiently, accurately and effectively whilst meeting deadlines will be critical. Equally important will be your interpersonal, stakeholder and collaboration skills.Other key skills required include:CPA/ACA/ACCA qualified or local equivalentProven experience in a similar financial accounting role in a large ASX listed business or chartered accounting firm (Big 4 or mid-tier)Strong Knowledge and application of accounting standard (AASB/IFRS)Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage conflicting prioritiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong financial and analytical skillsExperience using an ERP accounting system, ideally HFM (Oracle)Intermediate to advanced Excel skillsDemonstrate the ability to handle large volume of transactionsTeam player who can also work autonomouslyIf this sounds like a role and organisation, you'd love to be part of, apply today!
