Regional General Manager - Residential Aged Care Services
As a Regional General Manager, you will provide support in collaboration with the EGMRS (Executive General Manager Residential Services). This role involves managing the operational outcomes of the several facilities across the South East Region and actively mentoring and supporting the ongoing development and evaluation of key facility staff to ensure mecwacare delivers excellent resident experiences in a sustainable environment against set KPIs.
About the Opportunity
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying opportunities for business improvement and development through ongoing enhancement and implementing strategies to achieve organisational objectives and business excellence.
- Providing high-quality care and services to residents in accordance with the systems, standards, and performance measures specified in service contracts/agreements and mecwacare policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that the Residential Services are effectively managed and operate in accordance with all relevant mecwacare compliance guidelines, policies, procedures and legislation.
- Ensuring ongoing viability, efficiency, and effectiveness of service models across the Residential Services is reviewed and evaluated.
- Developing strategic approaches for workforce management, streamlined service delivery, and effective cost management in response to data trends.
- Ensuring employees are aware of their professional roles, responsibilities, and legal obligations, and these are well-documented.
- Managing the Service’s operating budget and complex funding and accountability arrangements and implementing and monitoring financial management strategies.
- Overseeing the infection prevention and control program, including preventing, identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections and communicable diseases for all residents, staff, and visitors.
- Demonstrating a commitment to standards of health and safety in accordance with OHS legislation, standards, and mecwacare policies and procedures.

- Extensive management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership, guidance, motivation, and strategic direction to employees creating values aligned partnerships to achieve agreed objectives.
- Proficient knowledge of relevant funding, standards, and legislative requirements.
- Demonstrated skills in root cause analysis and solution-focused interventions.
- Exceptional organisational, planning, and time management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and negotiation skills.
- You will be a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Extensive experience in aged and/or residential-based services with a minimum of 3 years in a senior management role.
- Tertiary management and/or business qualification or working towards the same is desirable.
- ACIPC: Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control Infection Control Lead qualification or training towards completion of the Department of Health requirements.
