Primary Purpose
The purpose of the Regional Maintenance Manager (off Road) is to lead the activities of the workshop in the servicing and repaid or the company’s transport fleet including developing a service maintenance and preventative maintenance plan and ensuring the execution of the plan to limit disruption to the fleet and customer. In addition, the Regional maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the workshop meets company procurement policies, procedures and systems
Specific Responsibilities
- Manage the compliance of health, safety and environmental obligations and requirements
- Manage the compliance of all customer, quality assurance and documentation and procedural requirements
- Manage the development and implementation of the Regional Business Plan
- Provide effective leadership and development opportunities to line managers and superintendents
- Manage the operating cost performance of the region, including the development and management of the budget and the achievement of agreed performance targets
- Assist with future regional projects in terms of identification of the opportunity, operational design and execution plans
- Promote other Qube business divisions (Qube Logistics, Qube Ports) when commercially sound opportunities present
- Liaise professionally with customers, regulatory authorities and suppliers to promote Qube Bulk in a positive way
- Provision of timely and accurate data input and reporting to the Director on the region’s operational performance and business development
- Manage the performance Management process for operational staff, specifically monitoring site managers and superintendents on best practice performance management techniques
Qualifications and Experience
- Broad knowledge of the trucking / bulk haulage /port sector with an in-depth knowledge of mobile fleet and associated equipment
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing and developing employees, ideally gained in a ports, logistics or heavy industry environment
- Diploma in Business, Logistics or related area, equivalent or greater
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point
- Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
- Ability to work well within a small team environment
