About the opportunity
The Regional Manager North oversees transport operations across NSW/ACT, encompassing depots in Newcastle, Tuggerah, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, and Tamworth, as well as the agent network despatch within StarTrack Road Express and StarTrack Premium. Entrusted with enhancing network efficiency, this role involves conducting strategic reviews and implementing agreed-upon initiatives. Ensuring adherence to service delivery standards and compliance obligations is paramount, while actively spearheading changes to optimise costs and drive network improvements.
What you’ll deliver with us
In this crucial role, you'll lead the efficient transportation of products across our network by maximising vehicle use and supporting our drivers to perform at their best. You'll cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation throughout the regional network, delivering end-to-end solutions that exceed customer expectations. Balancing cost-efficiency with profitability, especially amidst rising product volumes, will be central to your responsibilities. With 5 direct reports and reporting directly to the State Operations Manager for NSW/ACT, you'll oversee compliance, safety, and lead a dedicated team responsible for the day-to-day management of Express and Premium operations in the Northern region.

- Lead and inspire direct reports to deliver customer-centric results and uphold behavioural pillars
- Implement national transport strategies, ensuring legislative compliance and conducting effective audits
- Oversee StarTrack Road Express and Premium service standards, identifying and leading network improvements
- Manage relationships with Australia Post’s partners, agent delivery partners, and key stakeholders to enhance product delivery and service levels
- Provide expert logistics advice, manage company assets and budgets, and ensure compliance with financial processes
- Foster a "One Team" culture, prioritising customer and enterprise needs in decision-making
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across various levels and functions to meet business requirements
- Contribute to business benefits through process improvements, cost/benefit analysis, and engagement with customers and suppliers
- Collaborate with the commercial team and act as an active member of the Safety community to uphold quality standards and enhance Safety's reputation
- Provide effective leadership, setting clear goals and expectations, and supporting team development and career growth
- Establish operating rhythms to achieve objectives, address workplace changes, and resolve conflicts proactively
About you
You possess exceptional leadership skills, demonstrating a proven ability to uplift and inspire teams. Your adeptness in planning, organising, and prioritising is enhanced by a solid understanding of transport and logistics operations. With a strong focus on safety, you are unwavering in your commitment to maintaining high standards. Additionally, you exhibit strong accountability, taking ownership to drive positive change.
You’ll also have
- Thorough understanding of Safety principles, CoR, and their implications on operational requirements within Australia
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal, relationship management, and communication skills, with proficiency in report writing
- Operational experience with LEAN principles, business process engineering, and interpreting complex data
- Collaborative approach with diverse stakeholders, including executive, senior managers, and internal/external partners
- Proven ability to lead and influence change focusing on safety, accountability and customer focus
- Experience leading in multi-site settings and comprehensive knowledge of CoR, market drivers, and associated risks
- Capability to develop and execute work plans within SLA driven environments
- Working knowledge of logistics operations (Accept, Process, Transport, and Delivery) and deep understanding of the Parcel Services Network as applied to StarTrack business
