As a Project Leader, you’re the person who manages relationships with stakeholders, consultants, contractors and co-workers across the region’s water and wastewater infrastructure. Reporting to the Project’s Delivery Team Leader, you will lead and participate on capital and non-capital project delivery for our assets and operational works to ensure deliverables are on time, to budget and within standards.
What you’ll do
Your day may include travel to sites to confirm project scope, delivery requirements or oversight of construction works. Whilst we endeavour to allocate projects within your geographical area, due to resourcing you may have projects which require you to travel to remote country areas.
Or otherwise, office-based tasks include preparing project plans, business cases, tender packages and consulting with engineering consultants and stakeholders to confirm project designs.
This role will enable you to use and strengthen your project management, contract management, stakeholder management and communication skills by effectively managing and delivering a program of minor works.
Planning, communication, and negotiation skills are key to being successful in this role. The delivery of minor capital and maintenance projects allows our operations team to continue to provide water and wastewater services safely and efficiently to our customers.
A little insight into your next team and manager
We have a broad range of project leaders in our projects team with variety of skill sets. You will step into a supportive team who are happy to bounce ideas off should you need assistance.
There are three teams that focus on projects delivered within key geographical regions. Each of these teams is managed by team leaders, who are approachable and supportive, and will ensure that you are inducted into the business and project systems and processes to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Key skills and experience
This opportunity would be ideal for experienced project managers looking for a diverse portfolio of minor works projects though we offer extensive support in training and professional development. If you have a project management background in the engineering, construction field or a trades background, we would like to hear from you.
In addition, you may have experience with:
- Tendering and contract award processes
- Contractor Management
- Construction experience including quality & HSE site inspections
- Contract administration processes
