Registered Midwife

We are seeking a passionate Community Registered Midwife, with experience in remote Indigenous communities for a 6-week contract in Tennant Creek, with the opportunity to extend / go permanent if desired. 

The successful candidate will have a background in either Community Midwifery, Women’s Health, Remote Area Midwifery/Nursing, working in an inpatient/outpatient environment. 

This is a beautiful opportunity to journey aside expecting mothers providing pre- and post-natal care, alongside high quality and culturally sensitive midwifery care to expecting parents in Tennant Creek. 

This is a Monday – Friday role, with no weekends or public holidays, providing the perfect opportunity to explore the Red Centre!

Requirements:

Midwifery qualification completed at a recognized training institution: 

• Neonatal Resuscitation (annual) 
• Prompt – Obstetric emergencies (or equivalent)                  
• Cardiotocography (annual) 
• Baby Friendly Health Initiative or equivalent (8 hours breast feeding training) 
• Community Based Practice Experience – Essential

• Drivers licence 
• BLS
• Passport 
• AHPRA
• NT WWCC or Receipt if still in the process of applying

Please note that the candidate does not have to possess all of the qualifications mentioned, as it is expected that the RM will be practising within their scope.
