The Registered Midwife (RM) - Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) is an exciting opportunity to transition to caseload practice for a dynamic midwife (Identified) wanting to move into this practice context in a safe and supported way.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Fundamental knowledge and practice in the application of evidenced based clinical management, diagnostic investigation and pharmacological management of women across the continuum of pregnancy, birth and the post-natal period.
• Demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with hospital and community health providers within the Torres Cape Hospital and Health Service and beyond.
• Commitment to develop advanced level of personal and professional efficacy whereby practice is structured in a caseload midwifery model and enhanced by autonomy and accountability.

Requirements for the role:

• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and/or registration/endorsement with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to commencement of clinical duties. Current registration with the Australian Health Practice Registration Authority (APHRA) as a registered midwife and current practising certificate is mandatory.
• Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
• It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70).
