ABOUT THE POSITION
We are in search of accomplished and motivated Registered Nurses to join our foundation team at our newly established Care Hub within The Verge at Burleigh Retirement Village. We have multiple exciting opportunities to join our team on a permanent part time basis.
Our magnificent community overlooks the picturesque Burleigh Golf Course. Located within the third stage of The Verge at Burleigh Retirement Village, the Care Hub is a brand-new facility that provides a genuine alternative to aged care, offering compassionate and person-centred care in a boutique and intimate environment. Catering to a maximum of 10 people at a time, the Care Hub offers 24/7 care, but it is not a traditional nursing home, or a hospital.
We are offering shifts across the week from Monday to Sunday. From Monday to Sunday, you will have the opportunity to take on afternoon and evening shifts. Opportunities for day shifts are also available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
Your primary focus will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support services to RetireAustralia’s residents with assessed or identified needs. Through your compassion and understanding of the industry, you will be able to actively listen to our residents and their perspectives to build these relationships. This will allow you to use a holistic approach to meet the specialised needs of our residents.
Led by a dynamic Care Manager, your key responsibilities are:
- Provide holistic, consumer-directed care to residents
- Supervise and guide clinical care and support within designated scopes of practice, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, organisational policies and procedures
- Undertake resident assessments, care planning and case management as requested
- Assist with the personal care of our residents and, providing support and assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s) including mobility, continence management, showering, dressing and personal grooming as required
- Liaise with residents’ families, medical practitioners, allied health to assist with the best care quality outcomes
- Provide support to residents who require assistance with medication management
- Support and provide clinical oversite and supervision
- Maintain resident safety to the best of ability, using safe practices in the mobility of residents
- Work independently in resident units, delivering care in accordance with agreed resident care plans – this may include attending Clinical Care to other residents within the broader Village
- Above all make the lives of our residents better every day
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
As part of the application process, you will be required to provide a National Police Check, proof of right to work in Australia, verification of identification, and participate in pre-employment assessment.
- Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
- Previous Home or Residential Aged Care nursing experience (highly regarded)
- National Police Check
- First Aid & CPR Certificate (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
