Oolong Aged Care, based in Howlong is inviting applications from Registered Nurses with a passion for person-centred care to bring their skills to this casual position with the opportunity to become permanent, which includes being available for all shifts including some weekend work.
The Role
Our Registered Nurses play a key role in ensuring our consumers are cared for physically, emotionally and spiritually, responding to their varied needs with empathy and respect.
We are seeking somebody to provide clinical leadership and case management to the consumers in our care, as well as someone that can provide holistic care to our consumers, including caring for their physical and mental wellbeing as well as their safety. You will liaise with the Facility Manager and our Clinical Nurse Consultant to deliver a consumer-focused service that effectively meets individual consumers’ needs, while promoting functional independence, wellness and lifestyle choices within a Consumer Directed Care (CDC) environment. You will do this through the effective application of your clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based approaches and practice.
What you will bring to the role
- Full unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in Aged Care preferred
- Familiar with the Aged Care Act 1997
- Knowledge and demonstrated commitment to Quality and Aged Care Standards
- Familiar with Aged Care Funding
- Affinity and experience (or willingness to gain experience) working with residents with dementia
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Excellent communication and clinical problem-solving skills
- Excellent Team player who is highly motivated
- Skills in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety
- A requirement to meet National Accreditation competency – CPD hours of 20 minimum yearly standards.
