Registered Nurse, Aged Care
The Laura Johnson Home is a not-for profit residential Aged Care Service that caters for both respite and permanent residents of all care needs. It is situated in the Oasis of the Outback, Mount Isa, Sunny Queensland!!
We are a 75-bed facility, and we are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team on a Full-Time basis.

Key Requirements:
- Valid Nursing Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Degree level qualification in nursing
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Registered Nurse
- Flexibility in working shifts including mornings, afternoons, and nights
- Ability to successfully pass a current national police clearance
- Australian residency or working rights; Sponsorship available for eligible candidates
- Proficient clinical skills and knowledge in clinical documentation
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, leading by example with a proactive attitude
- Capable of assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and delivering care for residents
- Genuine passion for providing compassionate care to others
- Dedicated team player with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management abilities and a dedication to continuous improvement
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently and professionally
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse and demanding workload
- Previous experience in Aged Care is advantageous, though not mandatory

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Assess the healthcare needs of residents and develop individualised care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and evaluate residents' conditions, including vital signs and symptoms, and report any changes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and implement resident care plans.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and feeding as needed.
- Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding health conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with residents, families, and colleagues.
