Since 2001, Northrop Grumman has delivered Through-Life Support to the Royal Australian Air Force’s 34 Squadron located at RAAF Fairbairn in Canberra. The high-performing Northrop Grumman SPA (Special Purpose Aircraft) team is comprised of approximately 50 staff who provide all levels of maintenance, training and Logistics support to the fleet of two Boeing BBJ’s and three Dassault Falcon 7X’s Business Jets.
As the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager, you will lead our SPA Supply Chain strategy, which aligns with our overarching operating unit strategy. This pivotal position will see you integrating customer requirements into our Supply Chain agreements, leveraging your expertise in managing extensive, end-to-end Supply Chain strategies. As a key member of the SPA leadership team, your role will be instrumental in guiding our Supply Chain processes ensuring program success.
Your Role
As the driving force of our program’s Supply Chain management, you will manage the subcontracting team indirectly and oversee the Supply Chain team directly, including warehousing and procurement staff. Your role is critical in fostering collaborative relationships within the Supply Chain and Program teams. You will also manage relationships and performance outcomes with major Program suppliers and lead major sourcing and subcontracting efforts in coordination with the Subcontracts Team. Your strategic input is essential to achieving the Program’s objectives, which include risk management, prioritisation, and enterprise-level implementation. In this role, you will also play a significant part in strategic decision-making and budgeting processes, representing the Supply Chain function as a key leader.
About You
We are on the lookout for a strategic thinker and leader who excels in a matrixed environment, known for a proactive and collaborative management style. The ideal candidate will have a background in logistics, procurement, or Supply Chain, along with the relevant educational qualifications. While experience in the aviation sector is highly desirable, it is not essential. What is essential is your eagerness to learn and your dedication to contributing to the program’s success.
Your expertise should include a thorough understanding of Supply Chain management principles and program management as they apply to the Supply Chain, along with excellent negotiation skills. Skills in subcontract drafting, review experience, and an in-depth understanding of subcontract law are crucial. Your ability to effectively coordinate and manage outcomes in dynamic operational settings and exceptional communication skills, adaptable for various audiences, are vital for this role.
