About the Role:An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a
Registered Nurse or
Clinical Nurse within the Forensic Mental Health Service at
Ashton House.
Ashton House provides a range of recovery orientated and treatment services, therapy and educative programs to consumers on forensic licence, during the period of transition from a secure inpatient setting and the community, or those consumers in the community requiring an intervention to reduce risk of a readmission to a secure unit.
Ashton House works closely with the inpatient treating team, community mental health services and other community systems of support and care and across the justice system.The unit offers clinical case assessment and management, rehabilitation and preventative intervention services to consumers who are found Not Guilty By Reason of Mental Impairment under s269 of the Criminal Law Consolidation (Mental Impairment) Amendment Act 1995.As a
Registered Nurse you will provide nursing services in health service settings. In this role you will develop from a novice practitioner to a proficient level of professional practice and consolidate knowledge and skills, developing in capability through continuous professional development and experience. As a
Registered Nurse you will accept accountability for your own standards of nursing care and for activities delegated to others.As a
Clinical Nurse you will provide nursing services in a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study, developing from a competent to proficient practitioner. In this role you will accept accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. The
Clinical Nurse role continues to be predominantly clinical in nature, however employees are assigned appropriate portfolios, have hands on involvement in the group rehabilitation program and provide case management in close coordination with the multi-disciplinary team.To be eligible for this position, you must be registered as a Nurse by the Nursing/Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.Check(s)
