SalaryMater Private Hospital Mackay has multiple opportunities for experienced, passionate Registered Nurses to join the Day Surgery Unit Admissions team. These are permanent full-time positions.
Mater Private Hospital Mackay has been providing excellence in clinical and pastoral care to the people of Mackay and surrounds since 1927. Located on the northern bank of the Pioneer River since 2003, our Hospital is a modern 105-bed facility featuring five operating theatres, a fully equipped Day Surgery unit, and a wide range of specialist clinical services.
Salary range: $40.27 - $51.74 per hour (RN1) plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
What you'll be doing
You will provide care to patients who are admitted for Day Surgery and inpatient care, ensuring excellent standards of nursing care at all times and work closely with patients and their families ensuring they experience a sensitive, welcoming and friendly environment at all times.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
- Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
To be successful in your application you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Recent nursing experience in an acute hospital setting (at least 1-year post-graduate experience)
- Previous experience within a pre and post-operative nursing care in an acute setting is highly desirable
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
- The ability to work well autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times
