THE ROLE
We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Day Surgery Unit. As an experienced practitioner, you will display drive and enthusiasm for the delivery of expert clinical care with a commitment to actively participate in and facilitate ongoing learning and development.

Key Accountabilities for Registered Nurse (include but not limited to):
Provides care in accordance with documented care or treatment plans while prioritizing workload based on patient needs, acuity and optimal time for intervention
Ensures that all documentation is accurate and completed in a professional and timely manner and in accordance with MQ Health Policy
Participate in the identification, design and implementation of quality improvement activities, including policy review and development, self-initiated and directed by other members of MQ Health
Maintains good customer relations in a way that acknowledges dignity, culture, values, beliefs and the rights of individuals and groups
Adopts a consultative approach within a multi-disciplinary work environment whilst ensuring the patient’s duty of care is fulfilled
Ensures all mandatory education and competencies are completed in a timely manner
Demonstrates a willingness to work positively within a team to achieve team goals and the provision of excellence in care/service delivery
Participates in and contributes to occupational health and safety activities to ensure a safe work environment for clients, community, staff and visitors
Evaluates performance in a planned and systematic way and seeks feedback from customers in relation to the service delivered by the unit.

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 3 years’ post Grad experience with at least 2 years’ experience in a Day Surgery
Excellent organisational and time management skills and a proven ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast paced environment
Flexible schedule (Monday-Friday preferred with possible alternating Saturdays)
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and exercise independent professional judgement and critical thinking
Experience in a busy Day Surgery, operating theatre, recovery unit or endoscopy area is desirable
Well-developed computer skills including the use of electronic medical records systems, MQ Word, Excel and web-based research
High level of computer literacy
Proven ability to establish sound relationships with peers and clients using a customer service focus
Proven ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast paced environment
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and initiative
Ability to work independently and within a team
