The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient centred; evidence informed nursing care that promotes identified health outcomes. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
This nursing role is fundamental to the operation of our Centre of Excellence High Risk Foot Service. In addition to ensuring high quality foot care the DE in the HRFS is also responsible to ensure that the person has the most uptodate diabetes technology, is regularly assessed for short and long term complications and helps in the stabilisation of glucose management. This role helps reduce the risk of hospitalisation but also can take on care that ensures the person can be discharged from hospital in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will provide an integral clinical and educational role in the Diabetes Centre as well as in the Diabetes Centre High Risk Foot Service.

- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- The ability to work a 5 day roster (Monday-Friday).

About working for SLHD
This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2023_022)
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
