Surfcoast Medical Centre is seeking to employ a Division One Nurse for a part- time position.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working with general practitioners and allied health professionals across our two locations in Torquay - Surfcoast Medical Centre and Women's Health Torquay. Surfcoast Medical Centre embraces training opportunities for our nursing team, and regularly participates in PHN funded QI projects.
The successful candidate must be available for a minimum of 3 days per week and be willing to work across our two clinics - Surfcoast Medical Centre and Women's Health Torquay.
Working within their scope of practice, the Division One Nurse’s role is to work collaboratively with our two Practice's health teams to deliver care that meets patient’s needs.
The Division One Nurse responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Undertaking clinical nursing duties including triage, wound management, immunisations, iron infusions, assisting IUD insertions
- Development of Chronic Disease Management Plans
- Delivering patient education
- Adherence to all organisational policies and procedures including infection control and OH&S standards
- Contribute to policy and procedure development
- To assist with practice accreditation
- Other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- Division 1 Nursing qualifications with a minimum of 2 year experience in clinical nursing, post graduate year
- Experience working in a high functioning multidisciplinary team as well as the ability to work independently
- Current AHPRA registration
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation and conflict management skills
- Proven ability and commitment to patient service and continuous quality improvement
- Current CPR certificate
- Recent experience in a General Practice
Desirable
- Nurse immuniser endorsement (preferred or working towards)
- Highly developed IT skills, proficiency in Best Practice software or similar
- Knowledge of MBS schedule in relation to chronic disease management
- Experience in liaising and working with various health professionals
