IHMS is looking for an experienced, drug and alcohol Registered Nurse, to work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary team at our clinic located in Villawood, NSW.
The RoleIn this role you will be responsible to deliver and maintain Drug Health services to people residing in the Immigration Detention facility. Your main responsibilities will be:
- Assessment and support interventions for individuals in state of withdrawal or intoxication
- Administer medications and immunisations as prescribed and/or in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse-initiated medication guidelines
- Conducting urine drug screens, clinical tests, and health monitoring for patients with drug and alcohol issues, such as vital observations, ECG, etc.
- Participate in initial and periodic clinical assessment of patients
- Support the delivery of opiate substitution therapy program
- To assess, plan and implement appropriate health management
- Working with people from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds

Profile description:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Div. 1 Registered nurse
- Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience
- Experience in drug and alcohol nursing including dosing of patients in this field
- Current First Aid and/or CPR certificate or willingness to obtain
- Detention or corrections experience highly desirable
- Full and valid working rights in Australia
