Applications Close: 6 June 2024What you'll be doingThe District Director of Medical Workforce (DMW) is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Medical Workforce Unit, providing senior management of Senior Medical Officer (SMO), Junior Medical Officer (JMO) Workforce Units, and JMO Wellbeing and Medical Education. This position is key to ensuring the Medical Workforce is operating at its full potential through the development, implementation and maintenance of strategies, policies, systems, and processes relating to effective SMO and JMO management including rostering.The position has day to day autonomy in directing and managing policy and operational decisions for the above functions in the LHD, within allocated resources. Decisions related to resource deployment outside of the operational budget allocation are referred to the Executive Director Medical Services and Clinical Governance.All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. - Extensive senior management experience encompassing administration, human resource management and multidisciplinary health service delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to develop, motivate and inspire a team towards achieving a high-level service with a strong customer focus.
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning and development and organisational outcomes
- Proven track record managing change, developing and implementing business plans, operational structures and processes to achieve organisational objectives within budget.
- Proven effective influencing, negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal) with a wide range of stakeholders including medical staff, executives, Ministry of Health and other external organisation
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and processes as they relate to Medical Workforce.
