What you'll be doing
The Senior Registered Nurse is responsible for working rotating shifts in all areas of the Emergency Department including Fast Track, Paediatrics, In-charge, Triage, and Resuscitation areas as well as all general and acute areas of the department. The primary objective of this role is to provide assessment, information and acute care to patients in the Emergency Department in a senior nursing capacity in all areas of the department in consultation with the NUM/nurse in-charge.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria * Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
- Recent clinical experience in an Emergency Department or Acute Care setting.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Continuous Quality Improvement concepts.
- Computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
