About The Unit:
We are a 37 bed acute surgical ward, caring for post operative Orthopaedic patients. The unit has a supportive team environment with opportunities for individuals to learn and develop acute care skills. There is a strong leadership team to provide ongoing support and mentoring. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment with a focus on ensuring patient centred care and the delivery of positive patient outcomes is our priority.
Entry to Acute Care Program
The Entry to Acute Care Program has been designed to provide intensive support concentrated over a 6-week period, but totalling 12 months, enabling sub-acute nurses to transition rapidly and successfully into Acute practice.
The program includes:
- A supportive introduction to the ward by ensuring participants are allocated three supernumerary days with a gradual increase in patient load over the first 6 weeks.
- A designated ward based Clinical Nurse Facilitator to support and guide your transition.
What you bring
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience
- AHPRA Registration
- Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
