Role details The Cardiac Care Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Registered Nurse (Heart Health - Cardiac Rehabilitation) to join their team on a temporary part time basis. Your opportunity A Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing services within the health service settings; and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care. Responsible and accountable for delivering quality patient focused, evidenced based nursing care providing leadership, direction and support to other nursing staff and students and working collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary team across the Cardiac Units within the MHHS and external facilities via Telehealth. Gain valuable clinical experience in the areas of Heart Health patient/staff education, Cardiac Rehabilitation, heart failure and chronic disease management, working within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. About the Team The Heart Health Service sits within the Cardiac Services Department at the Mackay Base Hospital. We're committed to the optimisation of health outcomes for people with a range of cardiac conditions ensuring quality of life for the client, their families, and carers by the delivery of quality, coordinated and integrated multidisciplinary care across services, settings, and time. This service provides Education and support to patients and their families, Cardiac Rehabilitation, secondary prevention, and heart failure management programs across the continuum from hospital to home.
