Work independently and collaboratively with GPs providing nursing care and administer vaccines to infants, adolescents and adults in the medical centre environment.
Duties
- Provide safe and effective administration of vaccines
- Input, maintain and provide relevant records of immunisation/ vaccinations
- Provide the Australian Immunisation Register and National HPV Vaccination Program Register with accurate computerised data and reports as and when required
- Ensure all infectious waste are disposed of in an approved manner
- Ensure adequate supplies are on hand or appropriately stored at all times
- Assist GPs with minor procedures
- Diagnose and treat acute health problems, such as infections and minor injuries
- Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic disease management and health assessments
- Order, perform and interpret specific diagnostic tests
- Monitor, record and report symptoms or changes in patient’s conditions
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Administer medication and treatments to patients
- Observe for reactions or side effects
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patient
- Provide advice and education to families and patients
- Discharge and Admit Patients
- Supervise, coordinate and work in consultation with other health care members
- Immunisation for Health Practitioners Certificate from the Australian College of Nursing
- Minimum recent 12 months RN experience
- Work rights in Australia
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Current Criminal Record Check (or willing to undertake)
- Current Working with Children Check (or willing to undertake)
- Full immunisation history
