The Nurse Bank/Causal Pool at the Mackay Base Hospital is looking for Registered Nurses to join their team on a permanent and temporary basis.
Mackay Hospital and Health Service provides a public healthcare service to a population of more than 182,000 across the Mackay Region, Whitsundays and Hinterland. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2.

The Registered Nurse provides nursing services within the health service settings; and demonstrates competence in the provision of nursing care as specified by registration requirements, NMBA standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation and context of care.
About the Team
The purpose of Bank and Casual Pool is to provide Clinical & Non-Clinical support (RN/EN & AIN) to multiple areas of the Mackay HHS to meet gaps in daily service delivery needs, which occur as a result of various forms of leave, including but not limited to roster deficits, emergent sick/family leave, and increase in workloads.
Nurse Bank (contracted temporary/permanent) staff are provided a fortnightly roster, allocated to early, late and night shift. Each shift, staff are required to attend work to their provided allocation. Areas predominately serviced include but are not limited to – medical, surgical, orthopaedic, emergency department, mental health, in addition to specialty areas such as special care nursery, coronary care unit and intensive care unit once appropriately trained.

The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
