About your opportunity
Fixed Term Temporary full-time & part-time opportunities available, multiple positions, hours negotiable upto 12 months with possible extensions not exceeding 3 months.
Paediatric patients are managed in Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The role of the Registered Nurse is to provide direct and indirect patient focused critical care to ensure the provision of safe, quality, evidence-based and family-centred patient care within the PICU.
Generous pro rata remuneration package (based on full-time equivalent value) up to $10,122 p.m. comprising:
- Salary range of $41.73 to $53.53 p.h. (Nurse Grade 5)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration (mandatory).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an annual competency in Paediatric Life Support Certificate.
- Highly Desirable:
- Paediatric Life Support Certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Paediatric Life Support as per Townsville Hospital and Health Service policy Life Support Training and Assessment.
- Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
- Previous paediatric and/or critical care experience.
- Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
