The Opportunity

You will be responsible for providing outstanding nursing care to our patients. You will oversee the preparation of Patient Transport vehicles, manually assist patients to and from vehicles, and monitor patients throughout the duration of each trip. You will also work closely with other members of staff to ensure a seamless service for our patients and customers.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse in Inverell to join our Patient Transport Services team. If you're an experienced Registered Nurse looking to gain some invaluable experience working as an independent nurse, we'd like to hear from you.

Due to operational requirements, there will be instances where you be required travel to another hub within the New England Region, and will be required upon notice.

Preferred candidates are required to be successfully fit tested to an approved respirator prior to gaining employment with Patient Transport Services. The testing will be arranged and booked through Patient Transport Services during the recruitment process. Successful candidates must maintain a cleanly shaven face to obtain an adequate seal to the approved fit tested respiratory throughout their employment.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Preferred candidates are required to be successfully fit tested to an approved respirator prior to gaining employment with Patient Transport Services. The testing will be arranged and booked through Patient Transport Services during the recruitment process. Successful candidates must maintain a cleanly shaven face to obtain an adequate seal to the approved fit tested respiratory throughout their employment.
  • Candidates who are successful for a position must be willing to commit to a 2 week full-time induction period. The dates of induction will be made available by Patient Transport Services.
  • Meet essential requirements as outlined in the Position Description.
  • Candidates must have Australian work rights (citizens, permanent residents, or valid work visa). Permanent roles are open to Australian citizens and permanent residents, while temporary and casual roles welcome applicants with a visa.
  • This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and Tuberculosis (TB) screening. Refer to NSW Health OASV Policy (Page 11) for a complete list of required vaccines.   • This role requires you to work autonomously. Please provide an example where you were required to make clinical decisions on your own or without supervision. What strategies did you implement to provide high quality patient care and what was the outcome?
  • What does teamwork mean to you? Describe a time where you were required to work collaboratively in a team and contribute to a positive and constructive culture.
  • Provide an example where you were required to de-escalate a situation with a distressed or challenging patient. What strategies did you implement to successfully manage the situation?
  • Ability to work seven-day rotational roster including public holidays, early morning commencement and late evening completion time and a reasonable amount of overtime.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliance

All NSW Health workers must provide evidence of a COVID-19 primary vaccination course (2 doses) which have been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the COVID-19 vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate if received in Australia, or overseas records from a legitimate source.
