About The Opportunity
You will be working as part of a Public Health Unit to work with members of the SWSLHD Public Health Unit and supporting your colleagues and other stakeholders as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver consistent, high quality care to the people of South Western Sydney.
The team is a multidisciplinary team including Drs, Nurses, Epidemiologist and Data Quality Administrators.
The Public Health Unit, comprises of a communicable diseases team, Immunisation team, Environmental health officers and Administration team which forms a part of the Population Service within SWSLHD and is based in the Liverpool CBD.
The Registered Nurse will assist the Public Health Unit’s Immunisation Coordinator with the management of the NSW Adolescent School Based Immunisation Program in SWSLHD, ensuring the service is conducted in line with Health Protection NSW protocols, including scheduling of schools, rostering staff, provision of information to schools and parents, team leading school clinics, analysing coverage and data management.
Provide high quality clinical immunisation advice to immunisation providers and members of the public.

How to Apply

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated recent experience working as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, community and/or Public Health setting.
- Demonstrated experience and certification as an authorised immunisation provider or must be willing to complete the course within the first three months of employment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of vaccine preventable diseases of Public Health significance, and the role of Public Health in both immunisation and communicable disease control.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to provide safe, compassionate and culturally responsive immunisation services to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to use computers and effectively communicate with clients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to ensure provision of optimal immunisation services.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with others in a professional manner and resolve conflicts when they arise.
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
- Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
