Remote Area Nurses - DIDO/FIFO
The Opportunity
St John is seeking applications from experienced Registered Nurses with a strong medical background and the ability to work autonomously using assessment and critical thinking skills, in a rapidly changing environment.
This is a unique opportunity to experience parts of Australia that few people get to see: working with and supporting the learning from remote communities in the heart of WA.
About you:
- Provide Emergency response and First Aid to a regional community.
- Experience on industrial sites, emergency care or Remote Area nursing.
- Walk-In, Triage, and treatment room experience.
- Have excellent communications skills, being able to liaise with multidisciplinary team members.
- Promote health education and training for the local community as appropriate.
Essential Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registered RN with no restrictions.
- Minimum 5 years' experience.
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certificate.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Driver's Licence (C) - Manual.
- NPC (issued within last three months) or willing to obtain.
- Cannulation competent.
- Venepuncture and pathology collection.
- Current WWC or willing to obtain.
- Experience on industrial sites, emergency care or Remote Area nursing.
- Walk-In, Triage, and treatment room experience.
Desirable Requirements:
- Suturing experience.
- Experience splinting or casting for fractures and injuries.
- Current Authorised Nurse Immuniser certificate.
- Certification and experience in Drug and Alcohol testing.
- Covid-19 Triple Vaccinated.
