Our Journey
The Melbourne Children’s Sleep Centre provides an inpatient sleep study service, an outpatient home oximetry service, a non-invasive ventilation service and an apnoea monitoring service. The sleep study service performs 1,400 sleep studies on paediatric patients each year. The Melbourne Children’s Sleep Centre is staffed by consultant sleep and respiratory paediatricians, sleep scientists and nurses experienced in the diagnosis and management of all paediatric sleep disorders.
Monash Health is excited to announce a new Paediatric Sleep Scientist or Nurse position available in the Melbourne Children’s Sleep Centre
- Dedicated paediatric sleep unit operating Monday to Friday evenings
- Play an key role in providing excellent patient care - monitoring paediatric patients attending for assessment of sleep disorders and adequacy of treatments

The Melbourne Children’s Sleep Centre operates Monday to Friday evenings, with a set roster based on a fortnightly template.
Overnight shifts are from 10.30pm – 07.30am (9 hrs), and duties involve the continuous overnight monitoring of paediatric patients undergoing overnight sleep studies, removal of all leads and cleaning of the equipment/leads the following morning.
We are excited to offer 1 permanent overnight shift (9 hours per fortnight) to a Paediatric Sleep Scientist / Nurse within the Melbourne Children’s Sleep Centre at Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton.
The shifts available are:
- Week 2 Tuesday overnight
You have completed a Science Degree or are a Registered Nurse who is adept at working with varied monitoring equipment and software systems. You thrive working in a dynamic team and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence-based care to all patients. - Relevant qualifications (Science Degree or Registered Nurse Degree/equivalent)
