Where you'll be working
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, Perioperative Services Scrub/Scout
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Perioperative Department services 8 Operating Theatres including specialities such as ENT, O & G, Urology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Vascular, Dental, Endoscopy and Emergency cases. The department offers supported learning and professional development with a rotating roster including weekends and on-call requirements.
What you'll be doing
The scrub/scout nurse works with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient services that is high quality and safe for all. The role includes advocating for the patient, setting up the operating rooms and maintain sterility, ensuring availability of required instruments, assisting the surgical team, correctly completing surgical documentations, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.

- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

- A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
