What you'll be doing:
An exciting opportunity is now available to join the team in Surgical Outpatients Department/Pre Admission Clinic for Registered Nurses in either Permanent Full time or Part time positions. These positions are located at Nepean Hospital.
Your role as a Registered Nurse is to ensure optimal outcomes for patients/clients and carers of the service through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care and to work collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of patient care. At all times you will act as an advocate for the specific needs of all patients/clients and carers including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the patient/client undergoing specialised procedures.
This imperative role will see you maintain and promote a professional standard evidenced by ethical nursing practice, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Nursing and Midwifery Service, NBMLHD and the appropriate legislation and statutory regulations and provide support and clinical preceptorship/mentoring to all staff and students.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
- Experience and clinical skills in a Surgical or Outpatient setting
- Recent experience in wound care as a Registered Nurse
- Experience with venepuncture and indwelling catheterisation or willingness to learn.
- Managing the competing priorities within a busy clinical environment whilst maintaining a high quality of patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to work to evidence based practice and adapt new skills.
