A day in the life of a Registered Nurse – General Medicine (West 2)
We guarantee that no two days will be the same.
You’ll enjoy the variety and challenge that comes from working with skilled senior staff clinical mentors, while being supported by the leadership team across the program and across our large, complex health service. Your work will include:
- Patient centred provision of care to our cohort of patients in General Medicine
- Role modelling to other staff and working within the team collaboratively
- Participating in quality improvement across the program to support best practice

Our Wards under the General Medicine Program are truly a great place to work.
West 2 holds 30 inpatient beds comprised of General Medical patients admitted for cardiac, renal and respiratory conditions. We are one of several wards to have implemented ward governance, providing care to patients under the supervision of a medical, nursing, pharmacy and allied health lead. Under the governance structure, staff are encouraged to actively engage in quality improvement and risk mitigation activities to provide safe and timely care to patients.
