You will contribute to planning, implementing and coordinating appropriate service delivery to Aboriginal women and babies as part of the Anangu Bibi Birthing Program. Providing health education to improve the outcomes of individual patients or groups, you will work in partnership with women, respecting and supporting their right to self-determination in the life processes of pregnancy, birthing and parenthood. In this role, you will contribute to the networking and maintenance of collaborative partnerships between service providers, non-government agencies and the community throughout the Port Augusta region.

Dedicated to a hybrid midwifery model, we will empower you to deliver the best possible care, with more hands-on involvement. Knowing that midwifery with Health SA is more than help with birthing, you will be able to go on a journey of care together with the women in the community and in partnership with Aboriginal Maternal Infant Care workers to deliver best outcomes for Aboriginal families and Aboriginal babies.
With demonstrated competence in midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a team and prioritise workload, you will be creative, innovative and flexible in your approach to midwifery. Sound knowledge of Aboriginal Cultural issues and how these impact upon service delivery models will hold you in good stead for this.
You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.

This is a part time vacancy, working 40 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
