Located in Miranda, NSW, our established and busy private Integrated Specialist Healthcare Clinic provides high quality healthcare through the delivery of exceptional and integrated services to our patients and practitioners.
The Role - casual position 1 to 3 days per week
We are seeking a friendly, caring, and passionate Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join our Allergy Department. An allergy / immunology nurse focuses on the care of patients with chronic allergic conditions. These conditions include food allergy, asthma, allergic rhinitis, urticaria, and atopic dermatitis. There is also the prospect of the position transitioning into a permanent part-time role for the right candidate.
Essential Criteria
- AHPRA Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with General Registration
- Working with children clearance check
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated ability working in a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated computer literacy
- Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
- Excellent clinical assessment skills
- Attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Preparation of allergen extracts for skin prick testing (training will be provided if needed)
- Performing skin prick testing for allergic diseases and reporting the results to the doctor (training will be provided if needed)
- Monitor children’s reaction, attend immediately using practice protocols if a child has a reaction
- Educating parents and children on anaphylaxis, adrenaline autoinjectors, and food avoidance strategies (training will be provided)
- Perform oral food challenges (training will be provided)
- Administration of subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy (training will be provided)
- General nursing duties as required
