The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join McLellan House Hostel. The role is responsible for managing the requirements of the shift they lead and work directly with residents and families to achieve positive care outcomes for individuals living in the residential Aged Care.
- Responsible for updating the nursing care plan of the residents and ensure completion on every resident of the day.
- Support the NUM in the management of the facility
- Monitor the care needs of the residents
- Ensure Aged Care Audits are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure all Serious Incidence are reported on My Aged Care Service Provider portal in a timely manner as per the reporting priorities
- Ensure the residents' assessment are in compliance with the Aged Care funding System - AN-ACC
- Subscribe to the values of Northern Health and ensure that the services are provided within a quality framework and in the line with policies and procedures of the organisation.
- Act as a mentor to all junior workers
Mclellan House is a Mental Health Residential Aged Care under Northern Health. McLellan House Residential Aged Care has 32 beds and cares for Aged Persons with Mental Illness Mclellan House is Located at Jacana, close to the Broadmeadows Aged Person Mental Health Unit.
About you:
- Current Registration as a registered Nurse or midwife with APHRA and mental health experience working in residential aged care.
- Knowledge of the Aged care Funding and Reporting systems - AN-ACC and SIRS.
- Working Knowledge of Residential Aged Care Standards
- Experience working in in-charge capacity
- Recent experience working in the clinical field of residential Aged Care and/or mental health,
- Capacity to work a flexible roster - AM, PM & ND
