What You'll Do
As a Registered Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a range of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Your work will involve:
- Conducting assessments and developing treatment plans.
- Providing case management and ongoing support to clients.
- Collaborating with GPs and other specialists to enhance mental health outcomes.
- Engaging with community groups and government agencies.
- Participating in multidisciplinary care reviews and continuous quality improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and recommend evidence-based treatments.
- Identify, diagnose, and treat various psychological and behavioral issues.
- Maintain detailed client case notes and ensure compliance with legal and clinical standards.
- Develop and implement therapeutic processes and monitor client progress.
- Collaborate with regional psychiatrists, general practitioners, and other health professionals.
- Attend professional development workshops and stay updated with the latest in mental health care.
The important stuff:
- Post-graduate degree in Psychology.
- Current AHPRA registration (general or specialist).
- Minimum of five years post-registration experience - Ideal*
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Current Indemnity Insurance.
- Compliance with security clearance requirements (National Police Check and Working with Children Check).
- Unrestricted vehicle driver's license.
- D+A Testing requirements.
Desirable:
- Experience working in Aboriginal Health Services or related health/social service delivery.
