We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurses to join our Mental Health Team.
A nurse in the Noarlunga Specialised Psychosis Team provides clinical nursing expertise specific to the needs of individual consumers / groups and provides clinical knowledge to the multi discipline team. Nurses provide direct mental health care, nursing interventions, coordination of care and contribute clinical expertise within the team to improve consumer care.
Employees classified at this level provide nursing and services in health service settings. Employees working within this level develop from novice practitioners to a proficient level of professional practice. They consolidate knowledge and skills and develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience. As a Registered/Clinical Nurse some duties may include:
- Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area
- Assists and supports the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities
- Participate in quality improvement activities that contribute to patient/client safety, risk minimisation and safe work activities within the practice setting.
To be a successful applicant in this role you will need:
- Registered as a nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated competence in mental health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
- Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
