The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for a Registrar - Medical Oncology vacancy.
The Medical Oncology position would suit trainees in palliative medicine, general medicine, also potentially meeting accredited core training in Medical Oncology.
The appointee would be working alongside another two advanced trainees in Medical Oncology.

$131,000 - $183,500 per annum

Period of Employment
Fixed term, full time day work, 76 hours (+10 hours protected training time) per fortnight, commencing 5 August 2024 to 3 February 2025 (18 months negotiable).
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Duties
The Registrar is responsible for the day to day management of public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides on call cover for the Medical Oncology unit as well as infrequent after-hours emergency cover at the hospital.
Essential Requirements
- General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty
2. Identification check
3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
