The Regulatory Capital and Reporting Lead role is critical to making this happen by leading a team responsible for Regulatory Capital calculations and reporting and ensuring ongoing compliance with RBNZ and APRA Regulatory Capital requirements.
You will also be responsible for completing all credit related RBNZ regulatory returns with a high degree of accuracy, whilst adhering to ANZ’s Regulatory Reporting Framework.
Some of your other responsibilities will include:
- Leading the change management process for regulatory reporting requirements and internal changes.
- Transforming the regulatory reporting approach by exploring ways to use technology to automate, rationalise and create report consistency.
- Assist the Business and other Risk functions with Regulatory Capital queries and impact analysis, acting as trusted advisor and key subject matter expert.
- Ensure all processes, compliance plans, and controls are reviewed and tested.
- Coach and mentor direct and indirect reports, to support the development of technical and communication skills.
- Enhance bank-wide data quality awareness and understanding as it pertains to Regulatory Capital.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Minimum 5 years financial services experience in Risk Management or Regulatory reporting roles including strong understanding and technical expertise in the full reporting lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of Regulatory Capital, and its associated frameworks in the banking industry.
- Proven successful experience in leading, coaching, developing, and mentoring staff in an inclusive workplace culture.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, specifically transforming processes and approaches to optimise efficiency, ensuring an integrated outcome within and across teams.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Comfort challenging and influencing key stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Knowledge and experience in SAS, SQL and excel coding are advantageous.
